THE FAR FAR FUTURE FUND

The Far Far Future Fund is leading the research on a remarkable discovery. A discovery that we believe to be a redefining moment. Mysterious clay tablets have got scientists baffled, causing controversy. We in the Far Far Future Fund believe that these clay tablets contain important information from the far far future. Thus we have established ourselves as a fund, with the aim to manage and maintain these valuable messages. For the benefit of the people today, and for generations to come.

During Landscaping-work at Buitenplaats Brienenoord, the "testing-ground for the future" enigmatic artifacts were uncovered. Clay tablets encoded with with a strange script. Leading experts are working conducting forensic analysis of the objects in order to decode the messages. The Far Far Future Fund has taken on the responsibility of organizing this effort and cataloguing the finds for everyone to see on this website.

Decoding the mysterious script

Image of clay tablet found at Briennenord Image of clay tablet found at Briennenord

The engravings on the clay tablets are unlike any known script. Despite the tablets "primitive" materiality, the script seems complex following strict rules. All the "characters" originate from the same baseline not unlike the latin alphabet. What is really puzzling though, is the fact that all characters seem to be unique.

Our researchers believe the writing-system to be algorithmic-based and contextual, capable of storing information extremely efficiently. By looking at "key"-characters of each tablet, the others can be decoded. A method utilizing state of the art machine-learning is under development in an effort to unlock the tablets' secrets. This process is computationally demanding, and the data we are working with is limited. Therefore it is important to note that the current transcripts of the tablets are approximate and fragmented. With time we hope to improve our models for better results.

Image of clay tablet found at Briennenord

Excavation site: Buitenplaats Brienenoord 1A

Excavation Date: 03.06.2025

Description: Engraved clay tablet

Measurements: Length: 150mm    Width: 150mm

Approximate transcript:
Be warned predecessors […] As the stars become yours […] danger […] fiscal singularity […] Everything Devoured

Researchers notes:
This message sets an eerie tone, one can only speculate on what this warning entails. "As the stars become yours" suggest that the author is from a time where humanity has becoming an inter-planitary, possibly inter-stellar, species. It also speaks of danger realted to an all-absorbing "fiscal singularity", leading us to believe that the far far future is governed by monolithic capital power. On another note, as this is one of the few intact tablets, it has been invaluable for the research of understanding the script.

another clay tablet from the briennord site

Description: Engraved clay tablet

Measurements: Length: 150mm    Width: 150mm

Approximate transcript:
('Adressed to') finder of warnings […] your primitive ('means of') communication […] Reproducing opti-lingual encodings […] ('imposed onto') hydro-kaolinite […] hopes of understanding […] to help us persevere

Researchers notes:
Again the inscription is denoted as a warning, supporting that these tablets are messages intended to be found. The message seems to reference the tablets themselves: the opti-lingual encodings referring to the visually-readable script, and the hydro-kaolinite referring to the clay itself. It seems as the authors of the messages assumes that this form of communication would be familiar enough for us to understand (which they were right about). Suggesting that clay-objects are the only intact information-communicational evidence from "our" time in the far far future. Yet the script itself seems more computational in nature, more resemblant of technology from this century. meaning that the authors must live so far in the future that a couple of thousands of years to or from, is insignificant. In fact our scientists have run computer simulations, and hypothesize that the messages must be at least from 80 000 years in the future, but possible as far as 200 000 years from now.

Measurements: Length: 150mm    Width: 150mm

Approximate transcript:
Urgent message […] hopes of compliance […] No good in our time. A time far far ahead […] ('Headed towards') ending of solar system […] you can help […] Change of trajectory

Researchers notes:
From this message it become apparent that whomever is issuing these messages are doing so out of desperation. We believe that the tablets are cries for help, from someone facing impending doom. Hoping that by taking action today, we will be able to avoid the trajectory that leads to these "no good" times. How exactly we are going to help is not clear from our current understanding of this message.

Measurements: Length: 150mm    Width: 150mm

Approximate transcript:
Water-ice […] 2.49721*10^16 […] 3.89600*10^16 […] 5.52121*10^16 […] 8.48313*10^16 […] 1.39002*10^17

Researchers notes:
Though fractured this tablet has been one of the easier messages to decode, as its main contents seem to be numerical values, prefixed by "water-ice". The leading theory is that water-ice is an important resource in the far far future, and that this tablet is tracking its price. Making us to believe that the challenge they are facing might be caused by mismanagament of resources, aswell as ecological factors.

Approximate transcript:
In this time […] Our time […] Evil gods […] buying everything […] buying anything […] nothing left for everyone […] indebted […] enslaved to the evil gods

Researchers notes:
This tablets might help shed some light on this "fiscal singularity" mentioned in the tablet with inventory ID: 554002. It is believed that it is not actual gods or divine entities, that are wreaking havoc. Rather, as the tablet suggest, through accumulation of capital – the "buying everything and anything", A class-society has emerged. Consisting of practically god-like individuals that control everything, and everyone else living at their mercy.

Description: Engraved clay tablet

Measurements: Length: 110mm    Width: 150mm

Approximate transcript:
Inflation beyond imagination […] millennia of deficits […] empty food-reserves […] homelessness is the norm […] yearning for shift in power

Researchers notes:
The transcript bear an uncanny resemblance to buzzwords found in news-headlines today, just more exaggerated. Analysts have concluded that the far far future is some sort of ultra-late capitalist society, where irresponsible capital forces are making life unliveable with "infaltion beyond imagination". Enforcing the inequality, ensuring the ones in power stay there. Then it is understandable that the author(s) of this message is yearning for change.

Time is the key […] you are they key […] efforts rewarded manyfold […] compounding interests

Researchers notes:
From this tablet it becomes explicit that the only solution imaginable to the authors, is to intercept the crisis before it starts. They compare this process to "compounding interests", a curious artifact speaking of an ontology dictated by capital interests. It might shed some light on how we can take action, in order to help our distant descendants.

Researchers notes:
We have only been able to decode a small fraction of this tablet, yet it stresses the urgency of immidiate action. Thus we are commited to decode the mystery, in order to change the trajecory of the far far future and mitigate this prophesied apocolypse.
